TRB OPPORTUNITY

As a result of COVID-19, young professionals have had reduced access to leading industry conferences due to event cancellations, budget reductions, travel restrictions, and social distancing. Young Professionals in Transportation – International wants to support the professional development of young professionals by funding the 2021 TRB Young Professional registration fees for four YPT Members at a value of $245 per registration. The conference will be held virtually.

Disclaimer: the TRB Annual Meeting website defines that a Young Professional can register at a reduced rate if they are age 35 or younger at the time of the Annual Meeting (date of birth & ID required.) We will reimburse for this rate, however an active YPT Member who does not confirm to that definition can enter and would need to cover the difference between the Young Professional rate and the standard rate if selected.

Additional information is available through the form below. Submissions must be submitted using this form by November 19, 2020 at 8 pm PST to be eligible.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS

Are you enrolled or considering enrolling in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program but confused about how it actually works? Did you know that close to 99% of applicants are currently denied after ten years of service?

We will host a lecture and workshop on the program with loan expert Betsy Mayotte, who spent twenty years doing loan compliance before founding her own nonprofit organization dedicated to helping student loan borrowers. Join us for a presentation on the inner workings of the program and the latest COVID-related updates to it, as well as a Q&A session (must be a member to attend for free). We will have an option to submit questions privately as well.
